As your Hayward Area Recreation and Park District (HARD) Director, I work to ensure equity and access across the district so that everyone has the safe and joy-filled recreation opportunities that meet their needs and interests.
From the first shuffle of my tap shoes at age 5 to my certification as a Laughter Leader 25 years later, I have done my best to infuse recreation into my life and the lives of others. During my 20 years as a state and nationally certified recreation therapist, I developed and ran a wide variety of programs for thousands of people of diverse ages, abilities, and life experiences. Those same planning and people skills have made me an effective policymaker. During the 8 years I served as a Hayward City Council Member (2 of those years as Mayor pro tem), I led efforts to ensure sound management of tax dollars, environmental sustainability, decreased homelessness, and increased transparency and public participation in local government. Now, as President of the HARD Board, I look back on my first term as a HARD Director and am grateful each day to be part of such a remarkable organization. As such, it is my fervent desire to be re-elected in 2026 and continue to support the vibrant community I have known, lived in, and love. Please help by voting for me on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2026.
